Tankwa’s Nest

Tankwa’s nest is an original metal and rock assemblage sculpture – bringing together the natural textures of smooth river rock and the rustic industrial look that is characteristic of a Bouart piece. Mounted on solid live-edge wood, Tankwa’s Nest makes reference the Tankwa Karoo – one of the most arid regions of South Africa – but also a place where the hardy ostrich makes its nest in defiance of the harsh climate.
